President of The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Kush Kumar Joshi on Saturday demanded security and peace from the government for the economic development of the country.
Speaking at the inauguration programme of fourth general convention of Sindupalanchowk chapter of FNCCI organised at Barabise, Joshi underscored the need to stabilise politics and demanded the announcement of Sindupalanchowk as a 'special economic region'.
He said shut downs and load shedding has affected the industrial area.
On the occasion, the FNCCI president announced that the federation will carry out campaigns to establish security and peace.
He also claimed that the FNCCI can play the role of mediator at a time when India wants to trade with China.
Joshi also demanded assurance from the political parties to stop protest programmes including shut downs to make Tourism Year 2011, a success.
