Nepal German Chamber of Commerce & Industry ( NGCCI ) coordinated Nepal’s participation at the annual Caravan Motors & Tourism ( CMT ) International Fair 2020 held in Messe Stuttgart, Germany from January 11-19, 2020 in cooperation with Nepal Tourism Board ( NTB ).
Nepal Tourism Board along with Royal Mountain Trekking Nepal Pvt. Ltd., Adventure Mountain Explore Treks & Expedition (P.) Ltd., Smiling Eyes International Travels & Tours Pvt. Ltd., Himalayan Scenery Treks & Expedition Pvt. Ltd., Advanced Adventures Nepal P. Ltd., Royal Mountain Holidays Nepal Pvt. Ltd participated as exhibitors in the Nepal Stall.
Nepal Stall in CMT 2020
The best CMT 2020 of all times the Holiday Exhibition attracted the record number of more than 2,261 exhibitors from around 100 countries and 360 regions and 300,000 visitors to the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre.
The Exhibitors with their professional German partners and attractive holiday packages presented country’s tourist attractions ranging from cultural products to scenic beauty and adventure products with active participation and interaction with the visitors.
Nepal’s participation in CMT 2020 was even more highlighted with modified new stall with stupa style and addition of short cultural dance performance and Nepal Tourism video presentation highlighting VNY 2020 at Nepal Stand.

Major Highlights of CMT 2020
CMT Nations’ Day – Networking with high officials and Country Representatives
Opening was great, even exciting were the following days at CMT 2020 fair in Stuttgart with lot of opportunities and forums to promote Nepalese Tourism in such a big event.
CMT Nation’s Day on Jan 13, 2020 was one of the proud moments for Nepal to represent in Presentation on Destination Promotion Management and networking event with major country’s official representatives followed by talks interaction and networking with high officials, Honorary Consul and Consul Generals and representatives of participating companies at VIP lounge. CEO Saraswati Maharjan and NTB Director Mr. Hikmat Singh Ayer represented the event from Nepal.
Thanks to the protocol officials of Messe Stuttgart management team for providing the opportunity during such a great event.
Traditional dance and tourism highlights at Nepal Stall
In our effort to make more effective Nepal’s participation on the closing day Nepal organized beautiful dance performance at Nepal Stand in cooperation with NRNA Germany and INAS Germany.

Nepal Stall was overcrowded with visitors when beautiful ladies in traditional Nepalese dresses performing Nepalese dance. The visitors even enjoyed joining the team dancing in the Nepalese tuning. It was major attraction at Nepal Stand.
Thanks to the NRNA Germany Vice President, Mr. Milan Panta, INAS Germany and Nepalese friends for their kind cooperation and coordination for the additional event at Nepal stand and support for presenting Nepal with attractive cultural performance.
Modified New Stupa Nepal Stall
Nepal stand located at very prime location at the entrance of the main touristic hall no. 4 stand B 11, was modified in stupa style and nicely decorated with prayer flags, wooden crafted entrance and stone lions.

Beautifully decorated Nepal stand with exhibitors in traditional dresses was the center of attraction in the touristic Hall 4.
Nepal Stall was over crowded with the keen visitors throughout the fair with lots of queries and travel plans to Nepal. Most of the queries during the fair were related to trekking, cultural tours, spiritual tourism, air connectivity and sightseeing. Nepal stall was always over crowded with visitors throughout the fair.
Daily Lucky Draw- Nepal Prize for visitors
NGCCI in cooperation with all participating companies arranged daily lucky draw to attract more visitors at Nepal stand. The exhibitor of the day was announced each day sponsoring the prize of the winner of the day, Nepal tour package and other attractive offers. Lucky winners were announced each day out of the visiting cards/contacts collected on a day. The sponsor of the day was provided all the contacts collected one by one on their day.

The initiative was effective for attracting more visitors and promoting Nepal in Europe’s biggest tourism fair.

CEO Maharjan had brief talks and discussion on Nepal’s presence at the CMT, planning for next CMT and also sharing ideas on other possibilities and forums of highlighting Nepalese tourism.
She also acknowledged the kind cooperation extended by Dr. Bleinroth and his team providing different platforms and facilities and integrating Nepal in their programs and activities. On behalf of NGCCI, CEO presented token of appreciation to Dr. Bleinroth at Nepal Stand.
Nepal’s participation in CMT 2020 was successful for Nepal and all the participants with lots of business contacts and even on the spot bookings for the holiday packages. Participation was successful to promote Nepalese Tourism and highlight VNY 2020. Nepal promotional collateral and souvenirs, display materials decorating the stall and dance performance and Nepal video Presentation at the stall were able to promote and present Nepal as holiday-destination for the German as well as the European market.
Post CMT Nepal Promotion in Essen, Germany
On January 23, 2020 Nepal Event was organized by Mr. Stephan Thiemann Owner of Motorbike -Tour Ltd. based in Essen, in Namaste Restaurant, Essen, Germany. More than 120 top potential German participants interested to visit Nepal joined the evening to know more about Nepalese tourism.
During her short remarks, CEO Saraswati Maharjan highlighted about Nepal and Nepalese tourism followed by short video presentation. Networking dinner event was really fruitful to promote Nepal and also gaining insightful information on the experience and interest of German travelers visiting Nepal.
