NGCCI Zoom Meet on “Green Recovery as a step towards Sustainable Business in Nepal”

NGCCI organized NGCCI Zoom Meet on “Green Recovery as a step towards Sustainable Business in Nepal” on July 6, 2021.

The objective of the program was to create awareness on the significance of Sustainable Business among the members of the NGCCI through sharing of international experiences and to assess the current status of the sustainability among the member business as feedback for the speakers.

Program moderator Executive Member Mr. Rajib Joshi highlighted on the program. Welcoming the speakers and participants President Mr. Anup Malla expressed that the emphasis of recovery should be in economic inclusion and social equality. Ambassador H.E Roland Schaefer, Embassy of Federal Republic of Germany to Nepal, delivered key note address on Significance of Green Recovery and Sustainable Business. Ambassador H.E Nona Deprez, European Union Delegation to Nepal addressed the session highlighting on “Prospects of Green Recovery and Sustainable Business in Nepal.

During the sessions, Prof. Dr. Rainer Eigenstetter, FOM University, Munich, presented his views  on “Prosperity for All and Sustainability of Everyone – Ideas Towards a Vision for Nepal’s Economy”. Dr. Tobias Fehlbier, International Business Expert (Business Metropole Ruhr)

shared on “International experience/ efforts towards Green Recovery and Sustainable Business” and Mr. Klaus Remmer, Retired Banker – Sparkasse on “Green Recovery and Sustainable Finance”

The sector wise business leaders from Nepal, Mr. Taijash Kakshapati, Hospitality Sector, Er. Gyanendra Lal Pradhan- Hydropower sector and Mr. Santosh Kunwar- Tea, coffee and agro sector, shared experience on the topic.

General Secretary Mr. Uttam Bhattarai, concluding the session mentioned that the Zoom Meet was very relevant at the current Nepalese context, while most of businesses are suffering by COVID 19 crisis and facing sustainability issues. He also thanked all the speakers and the participants.
